Happy New Year. It's the first weekend of 2026 and that means nobody is at the cinema. Okay, obviously not true, but for the major studios, this is not an optimal time to drop a big new movie. We think of January as the dumping ground for a reason.
Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra starrer Ikkis witnessed 7.53 per cent growth on Sunday, earning ₹5 crore at the box office in India.
Top 10: A24’s Marty Supreme is no. 4 at the domestic box office on 2,887 screens for a $12.5 million weekend and a $56 million cume. Animated David from Angel Studios is at no. 7 on 2,900 screens with an $8 million weekend and a $70 million cume.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is officially James Cameron's fourth hit in a row to pass the $1 billion mark at the global box office. See where it ranks.
Ikkis box office collection Day 4: Agastya Nanda ’s theatrical debut, Ikkis, received largely positive reviews from audiences and opened to a decent start at the box office. However, the film witnessed a sharp 50% drop on Day 2. The weekend saw a slight improvement in collections.
As the theatrical landscape continues to change, these movies are seeming less likely to have their box office records challenged in the years to come.
