The South Hayward BART station was expected to remain closed through Sunday night as crews worked to repair damage from a morning fire, according to the transit agency. Fiber optic cables were damaged early Sunday morning in a fire that "originated outside of BART," shuttering service between Union City and Hayward for most of the day, BART said.
